My Profile
Tregoning
Hertfordshire
I am a serious racing enthusiast. Having worked in the industry in a number of guises I love all aspects. I have worked as a racecourse manager at Pontefract for one season, worked on studs, ridden out for trainers including Tom Tate and some permit holders, have ridden in point to points before I discovered food properly, insured many of the worlds finest racehorses, insured many of the top trainers yards and many studs and now have no professional connection to racing. I am still a member of Cheltenham and cannot remember the last day of the festival I missed. I even managed to get Jury Service deferred from that week but the buggers gave me Royal Ascot week instead so that went down like a lead balloon particularly when the case collapsed. I attended the BHB Graduate training course and also an amateur jockeys course at the British racing and still have strong connections in a number of yards. I myself prefer jump racing although my cousin (named after my profile) trains on the flat. Watching Nayef win the Sheema Classic, Edredron Bleu win the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Well Chief winning the Arkle and IStabraq winning his third Champion Hurdle are some of my favourite highlights to see live.
I am racing mad but also love all other sports including field sports and am an Arsenal fan for my sins and also support Wasps... I will go anywhere to watch live sport especially racing and love the day to day training most. Ultimately I am a frustrated wannabe trainer! I am critical of jockeys as I feel they take much more out of the sport than they put in, but I feel the National Hunt boys are a much better advert for their sport. I love top class racing but have relatively little time for the crap racing and am allergic to all weather racing!
